We think it is fun to read as a team. You can read in a group on the sofa at Grandma's house or sit on the sidelines with the McDonald County High School Girl's Volleyball team. Reading is a great sport!
Chayton and his mom like to read in their comfortable chair. If you look closely, there is a big stack of books next to the chair.
We love to read in kindergarten! Today we brainstormed and visited many places that would could enjoy reading. Check out the photos below to see what we came up with!
Mrs. Reece is challenging kindergarten and their families to email pictures of other places we enjoy reading. The more the merrier! Email me at [email protected] We made sequencing bracelets last week and got to take them home Friday. Sequencing is a skill that we have been working on all week. We have been practicing retelling stories in the correct order. For this time of year, we are focusing on beginning, one detail from the middle, and the ending. We touch the beads on the bracelet to help us remember the order of the events. The green bead is for the beginning, the blue bead is a detail from the middle, and the red bead is for the end of the story. Parents can continue reinforcing the skill by asking their child to tell them what happened in the beginning, the middle, and the end. You can assist your child to make connections in their own life as well with questions such as; what is the order you get for ready school, how do you make a peanut butter sandwich, etc. We want to give a small glimpse into how we start our day every morning during calendar time. We have a special song that we sing to help us remember the days of the week. |
